The Barrhead Atom Hawks held on a late third period surge to hold on to win 6-4 at home against Leduc.
Barrhead got off to a quick start when Carson Anderson scored just over 20 seconds into the game.
Austin Cross, who assisted on the first goal, extended Barrhead’s lead scoring at just about the halfway marker of the period.
In the second period Barrhead scored one more, once again, just short of the half way point before Leduc scored their first goal the game. About five minutes later they scored another.
Barrhead restored its two goal lead on efforts by Cross, his second, and Ryder Sabiston.
Anderson restored Barrhead’s lead with two-and-a-half minutes left in the period.
It looked like the home team had it pretty much in control with Julian Sutherland’s goal which made it 6-2.
At the eight minute mark narrowed the lead to three and then with about six minutes narrowed Barrhead’s once again and it looked like they might just yet make a game of it, coming close to scoring on multiple chances.
Saturday’s win the Hawk’s record moves to 3-1-0.
Barrhead’s next home game will be on Dec. 3 at 1:45 p.m.
