Where did the time go?

Dear Editor, My dear friends. My, we did get long in the tooth, didn’t we? But looks can be deceiving. We may have white hair (or no hair) and we might hobble along with a walking stick, but don’t be fooled, the brain does not age.

Dear Editor,

My dear friends. My, we did get long in the tooth, didn’t we? But looks can be deceiving. We may have white hair (or no hair) and we might hobble along with a walking stick, but don’t be fooled, the brain does not age. There’s still mischief going on. The body may be a bit worse for wear but it was worth it.

What happened? Your first love has become an old person, much older than you. You watch dancing on TV but what in the blue blazes are they doing? That’s not dancing.

None of my friends understand “rap”. Where is the tune? My music you could sing to; it lasted for years. This stuff that passes for music today is annoying noise.

I’ve never been one to suffer a lot of exercise. Huffing and puffing does not appeal to me. Walking my old dog suits me just fine. Tinker, my dog, loves me no matter how I look or smell.

Many old friends have left the planet. Loneliness is a constant battle. Having a little furry person who needs me keeps me company.

I appreciate my good health. I should have taken better care of myself, but I never expected to be here this long. The many self-inflicted hangovers probably killed some brain cells, but the party was worth it.

Voices never change, though. Through the Barrhead Leader, I’ve been able to talk to old friends on the phone, and it brings it all back. We have never changed; our suit just got worn out.

Thanks for the memories.
