MP says federal Liberals policies hinder prosperity

Dear constituents, As 2018 comes to a close, I am pleased to share an update on the past 12 months. For the first three years, it was a blessing to have my family with me in Ottawa whenever Parliament was in session.

Dear constituents,

As 2018 comes to a close, I am pleased to share an update on the past 12 months.

For the first three years, it was a blessing to have my family with me in Ottawa whenever Parliament was in session. This past September, with big sister Aliyah starting school, my family made the decision to remain in Alberta. All three children, Aliyah, Seeley, and Jillian, are growing quickly and they are excited to have another sibling joining them in the spring.

Over the past year in Ottawa, my priorities have focused on being a voice for northern Albertans, standing up for our forestry and oil workers, victims of crime and families.

As I have travelled throughout our riding visiting towns, meeting with folks, attending events, and logging over 12,000 kilometres, I continue to hear one clear message: Liberals need to stop attacking local businesses and family farms.

To be honest, Albertans just want a government that will get out of the way.

Nearing the end of his mandate, it’s clear more than ever that Justin Trudeau’s policies are hurting Canadians. Our deficits are out of control, pipelines have stalled, our borders are not secure, families are paying more in taxes, veterans have to go to court to get benefits and victims of crime are left out in the cold.

The reality is Justin Trudeau’s priorities are not Canadians’ priorities.

The good news is that Conservatives have demonstrated to Canadians that there is a real alternative to Justin Trudeau’s Liberals: a Conservative movement that recognizes how hard Canadians work, and how little they get in return from this government.

We believe in keeping taxes low and we will continue to bring forward a positive Conservative vision for Canadians frustrated by Justin Trudeau.

We stand by our strong track record of compassionately managing our immigration system while maintaining secure borders.

We are proud of a Conservative government that took unprecedented steps to ensure that the rights of victims were prioritized.

A Conservative government will stop the raid on future generations, eliminate Justin Trudeau’s deficits, and get Canada’s fiscal house back in order.

As Conservatives, our priorities come from the hockey rinks, the legion halls, the grocery stores, and most im portantly, the local businesses who create jobs and opportunities. This is who we are, and that’s who we’re fighting for!

But for now, this is the season to count our blessings.  For Christians, the greatest of these is Christmas itself, the birth of Jesus Christ.

It’s a time for joyful reunions with family and friends. It’s also a time to remember and assist those in our midst who have less.

From Aliyah, Seeley, Jillian, Melissa and myself, Merry Christmas to all, and best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year.
