Buoyed by a strong second period offensively and the strength of their goaltending the Barrhead PeeWee Eagles defeated their namesakes from Onoway 4-1 at home Nov. 4.

After weathering the first 12 minutes of the first period where Onoway outshot Barrhead 12-4 the home team found their legs and spent the majority of the last six minutes in the oppositions end.

With just under a minute-and-a-half left in the first period Easton Olthius (assisted by Grace Kalmbach) broke the deadlock scoring Barrhead’s first goal.

In the second period Barrhead increased its lead just past the three -minute mark thanks to a marker by Carson Nanninga (assisted by William Bain). At the 12 minute mark Olthius scored his second goal, with assists awarded to Adam Assaf and Wyatt McCormick, to put Barrhead up 3-0.

In the third period Ryder Sabiston scored Barrhead’s, with an assist by Bain, final goal of the game at about the three-and-a-half minute mark.

Onoway’s Hunter Muir spoiled Kramm’s shutout bid with a little over a minute left in the game.
