Though still a very young performer, Edmonton’s Jaedyn Pilon is quickly making his mark in the entertainment world. Jaedyn got his start four years ago when he first appeared at the Blue Suede Music Festival in Busby, and has been a regular at the Festival since then. In the past four years since, he has played at other shows, and also performs the music of Johnny Cash and Buddy Holly.

The 10th Annual Blue Suede Music Festival organized by Trudy Taphorn held at the Busby Sports Ground August 24-26 was another huge success in spite of the weatherman not being very co-operative. Heavy rain late Saturday evening created some difficulties for the outdoor show, but the Elvis Tribute Artists, backed up for the evening with the live music of the Penticton Elvis Festival Show Band, the Cadillac Kings and Mike Schell and his horn section, Uptown Hornz kept on performing on the covered stage. Many die-hard fans stuck it out regardless. Sunday morning, they were back, many dressed for the worst weather in full rain gear.

In spite of the difficult weather, which threatened the Sunday evening entertainment, it was, once again, an overall success, with many songs sung and performed by Elvis Presley and a few by other tribute artists. In totale 15 tribute artists attended this year’s festival.

Those attending the show were also generous with their food and cash donations, which will be split evenly between the Westlock Food Bank, Barrhead Food Bank, Ripple Connection in Barrhead and the Morinville Food Bank. A total of 3,460 pounds of food and $1,320 in cash was donated.
