To whom it may concern

Barrhead is a place you want to live. You don’t have to agree with me, but that’s my opinion. It has everything a person could want and yet still maintains that quaint small-town feel.

Barrhead is a place you want to live.

You don’t have to agree with me, but that’s my opinion.

It has everything a person could want and yet still maintains that quaint small-town feel.

Between the clubs, the various services (FCSS, Blue Heron, Ripple Connection, et cetera), the goodwill exhibited towards complete strangers, not to mention the team spirit that is evident in this community on Friday nights, it is a wonder more people do not choose Barrhead as their destination of choice.

Maybe I’m a little bit biased because I have made real connections with people and I’ve lived in various places throughout this great country, I don’t know. The truth is, when I came here three years ago, I just knew this is where I wanted to be.

But that’s why I’m a little bit sad and angry that someone thought throwing beanbags at my friend’s car was funny. Not only did he drive halfway across the country in said vehicle and, quite possibly, slept in it along the way in extreme cold conditions when he ran out of gas, but he also brought my brother to see me.

I haven’t seen either of them in years but I convinced them to make the trip, boasting of how nice and wonderful everything is out here.

Thanks for not backing me up.

To the person or persons who threw the beanbags, who tried to break in and maybe pilfer a few items, I’m glad you didn’t break any windows.

I don’t know why you chose to target my friend’s car.

Based on what I know of the current trend in property crimes, I’m confused.

I know drugs generally play a part in decisions like this and is a major contributor to the rise in this type of crime but maybe you need to get your eyes checked by a optometrist.

After all, it was in fact a car you hit and as you well know, is not in the greatest condition.

I thought you people went after trucks and tractors, especially farm vehicles with the keys still in them.

A vehicle sitting in a parking lot with a clearly broken muffler and a bit of after-market ventilation done to the body is definitely not what I would consider a screaming invitation to come and be robbed.

Give your head a shake.

Next time, do yourself and everyone else a favour and think about your actions.

A lot of people are getting really tired of this b.s.
