Reader likes the low tech approach

Dear Editor, Technology is like a big, sleeping ogre, ready to destroy our way of life. Technology is cold and mechanical. It has no heart … no feelings.

Dear Editor,

Technology is like a big, sleeping ogre, ready to destroy our way of life. Technology is cold and mechanical. It has no heart … no feelings.

First guilty pleasure I have in a day is my first cup of coffee and the pleasure of spreading out my newspaper and reading it cover to cover.

I like the feel of it, the smell of it. I don’t want a little mechanical trinket coldly telling me about the big powers in the world who are all jousting about being the first to blow us all to hell.

I want the Barrhead Leader to tell me as well about the world situation, grim as it is.

I also want to know what’s going on in Barrhead.

I opened the paper a while ago to read that my classmate had passed on. I want to know whose having a bridge club, bake sales, yard sales etc. These are all people in my world.

I like to read a good book. I don’t want some mechanical voice reading to me. That’s great for visionally challenged people, but that’s one faculty I still have.

Even though you face challenges, as some of your readers prefer their cell phones and lap tops, please don’t succumb.

Send me your wonderful newspaper and know that you are loved and needed.
