Our sincerest condolences

In recent weeks, the Barrhead Leader has run editorials on a number of issues we feel are important to share with our readers or ideas that merit further discussion. That is a large part of our job.

In recent weeks, the Barrhead Leader has run editorials on a number of issues we feel are important to share with our readers or ideas that merit further discussion.

That is a large part of our job.

Another part of our job, as an editorial staff, is to step back and gauge the mood of the community — and this week that mood is sadness.

That is because, as many of our readers have probably heard by now, a little more than a week ago, on the weekend of April 9, Dorine St. Pierre, the wife of Town of Barrhead mayor Gerry St. Pierre passed away.

Sadly in Barrhead, like every other community in the world, we lose community members every week. Each of them is special in his or her own way, treasured by friends and family members, and their passing is heartbreaking to those close to them.

And so it is with Mrs. St. Pierre.

At times like this it is difficult to know what to say. My first instinct is to try to come up with words of comfort. Unfortunately they escape me.

While it may sound empty, all I can do, on behalf of the entire Barrhead Leader staff, is express our heartfelt condolences to the St. Pierre family and to those who hold her in a special place in their hearts.

Although it is impossible for us to know what you are going through, our thoughts and prayers are truly with you. God Bless.
