The hockey season came to an end in Barrhead with the Barrhead Old Vet Invitational tournament.

The four day tournament, which has been held for more than 20 years, started on Thursday, April 6, and featured twelve teams in two seperate divisions (men and women) competing in a friendly, no contact tournament, in which the majority of the players are over 35.

In the men’s division the Barrhead Old Vets won the top prize while on the women’s side it was Leduc.

Shannon Carlson said while the tourmanet is a competitive tournament the most important thing is all the players enjoy themselves.

“And that’s exactly what happened,” he said.
