Dear Editor,
A dangerous dog bylaw will stop nothing. Fine the owners with unlicensed dogs, owners that let their dogs off leash and dogs that are loose.
I’ve met more “big and ferocious” dogs that were way better behaved then some of the smaller dogs I have met.
I had my own incident walking my leashed 135 lb. dog through town, he was attacked by a unleashed Chihuahua. Funny … maybe … but if my boy turned around and defended himself, he would be the “big and ferocious” dog. He of course kept walking as my “big and ferocious” dog is trained.
All dogs should be leashed and controlled no matter the size.
Don’t blame the breed, blame the owners.
