In honour of Halloween the Barrhead Novice Elks did their best to trick their opponents and treat themseves.

Doing their best imitation of the Oilers in the 1980s, Barrhead scored quickly and often in a home game against the Stony Plains Predators on Saturday, Oct.31 at the Agrena, winning by a score of 12 to four.

In the first period the Elks made the best of their opportunities scoring four goals on only seven shots. The Elks also played strong defence in the period blanking the Predators and allowing only one shot on goal.

In the second period the Elks continued their dominance and shooting accuracy scoring four more goals on eight shots.

However, the Predators also made the most of their opportunities in the period scoring three goals on four shots.

In the third period the Elks once again scored four more goals, this time on six shots.

Leading the way for the Elks goal scorers was Renko Wepener with four. Other Barrhead goals were scored by Liam Rentz (2), Rylan O’Brien (2), Brayden Kramm, Ryder Sabiston, Mason Zwicker and Brett Visser.

Kruze Heimstra recorded the win in goal.
