Bantam Orioles double up, defeat Whitecourt

After a scoreless first inning, the Barrhead Bantam Orioles exploded for eight runs in the second, while on route to a 13-6 home victory, May 27, against Whitecourt.

After a scoreless first inning, the Barrhead Bantam Orioles exploded for eight runs in the second, while on route to a 13-6 home victory, May 27, against Whitecourt.

In the third inning, the Orioles extended their lead to 11-0, scoring three more runs.

At the top of the fourth inning Barrhead, being the visiting team, scored two more runs, taking a 13-0 lead.

Whitecourt got on to the scoreboard with four runs in the bottom of the inning.

They cut the lead, scoring one run in each of the fifth and sixth innings, while keeping Barrhead off the scoreboard.

Keenan Fourtier got the start for the Barrhead pitching three scoreless innings on 46 pitches earning the win.

Other Orioles pitchers included: Caleb Klump, Jayden Cramer and Riley Schaffrick.

The win was Barrhead’s first win of the season.
